First, we had a VERY special surprise visitor to our guild this month. Sun Bonnet Sue decided to drop by and say, "hello."
Last month's minutes were approved by Bailey M. and Stephanie C.
Georgia C - the knitting group will be meeting two different times during the month. The first Saturday of the month will be open to only guild members and will meet at Marilyn Z. home. The third Saturday of the month will be open to anyone and will be held at the library.
Charity update- Many donations were given - 133 knitted hats to Parkland, 17 pillowcases to foster care children, 20 zippered bags to the homeless, There were also 41 more pillowcases donated.
Workshop- This will be the day of the meeting in October will be where we meet for monthly meetings from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to help make charity quilts and spend time with other quilters. Please bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies. Also, if you have a ironing pad (if that's what they are called) and iron or cutting mats and rulers that you can bring, that would be helpful.
Rhonda - Methodist Central Hospital is in need of small flannel blankets for babies. These can be made quickly and they don't require much fabric. You can simply take 1 1/4 yard of flannel, round of the corners, and serge the edges. You can find flannel on sale many times and this is a great easy opportunity to help little babies stay comfortable during their visit to the hospital.
Sunshine and Shadow-
Lisa P, - had a throat biopsy
Ruth W. - fell off a step stool
Ann A. - her brother passed away
Jean S. - is back in the hospital
Stephanie C. - her daughter broke her arm
Bailey M. - sprained her ankle
Houston show tickets-
Marilyn Z. - has two tickets to the Houston Quilt show that will given away through a drawing at next month's meeting. If you are planning on going and would like your name in the drawing please contact Marilyn.

Please bring in your sold tickets to October's meeting.
Country day in Cedar Hill- October 8- there will be a booth were the guild will sell raffle tickets. Please contact Barbara S. is you haven't signed up and would like to help out that day. Remember, if you help for a couple of hours you get another chance in the drawing for the Christmas quilt.
There were LOTS of new magazined donated. You can purchase them for $. 20 a piece- what a bargain.
This is our annual Trick or Treat program. This is a fun opportunity to exchange a UFO that you no longer want for someone else's project that they no longer want. It's a fun, lighthearted way to get to work on a new project. Who knows, you might just get something you love. The only rule is that if you are trading something you got last year, you must at least stitch one inch on that project before trading it in.
On November 15th there will be an opportunity to present your program and to see other quilter's programs. This is a great opportunity for quilt guilds to plan out who to have as their guest speakers during the meetings.
