11/28/2014 - Part I - 1st Clue

Dana Grigonia posted to the Quiltville's Open Studio the following:

For clue #1: *SEE CORRECTION BELOW*
If you are cutting from width of fabric 44" wide, you can get at least 17 x 2-1/2" squares from a 2-1/2" wide strip.
So for 100 x black or yellow you will need 6 strips.
For the pink & turquoise half square triangles you will need ONLY* 10 strips of each colour by the width of the fabric to get your 280 hst.
Pink 10 strips.
Turquoise 10 strips
Black 6-7 strips
Yellow 6-7 strips.
* CORRECTION DOH!! YOU WILL GET TWO HST FOR EACH 2-1/2" NOT ONE. SORRY.

(If you are making your HST using the two squares together : cut 2-7/8" squares (drawing a diagonal line and sewing 1/4" from the line on each side) for your HSTs you will need about 10- x (2-7/8") strips each of the pink and the turquoise.)

If you prefer to paper piece your HSTs, go to this site and download free HSTs patterns. Be sure and check for printer accuracy.
